I work from home and have a startup. In the meantime, much of my work is online.    I would be happy to help folks who need to travel and who need a place where their beloved can stay, well-fed and well-protected, with the company of a little friend named Smarty-Marty.  I am new to this, but it seems like a fun way to share what is otherwise a spacious, well-kept home, a backyard, and off-the-road walks together.  Part of the reason is that my dog (11) is lonely and full of energy despite losing sight in one eye.    His loneliness is because his sisters died two years ago.  I thought a cat would fill the gap. The cat does her very best, but....&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
I have owned purebred Chinese Crested champion dogs, chihuahuas, and northern husky varieties.  I am also enormously in love with cats.  Both are very different, but both are loved and cherished.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
You will feel your pet is in excellent care.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

About my services:

What is specifically included in my services:  Your pooch will share my home.  This includes a doggy bed or on the chaise lounge, if s/he prefers. Blankets or other bedding can be brought with your dog to our home or use ours.  Meals are generally upstairs. If your pooch is not happy about stairs, then meals are in the kitchen or easily outside if that's where your sweetheart is used to eating.  There are potty breaks three times a day in the backyard. If you would like your pooch to be walked as well, then please let me know and we'll add that too.    
How many dogs will I board at the same time: I will only do one large pooch or two small ones.
How long are your dog walks: Walks are as long as needed.  15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour and with photos!
How many dog walks do you offer per day?  I offer 1-2 walks per day, depending on the day of the week, but typically, I offer a minimum of one.

How much time you can spend with pets:

Please note: Pets cannot be left alone for longer than 3 hours during dog boarding, and no longer than 1 hour during daycare. I stay with your pet and your pet stays with me.  I do not want any cages or crates in my house because they are cruel.   But if I am on a conference call, your pet needs to be a good boy or girl; if necessary, there will be chewy bone treats to keep him/her busy. S/he can also come to my room at night or stay in the guest room.  It is bare but has a pretty bed, tree branches, a table, and a rug.  It is a place where we have balls and a ball-throw machine.  It looks like a basic hotel guest room, but I have no guests. Only cats.  
How does pet care fit into my daily or weekly routine?  I work from home.
What is my availability like? I am available a lot of the week.

What is your home like?

Who else lives in my home? Any family members, roommates or pets? I have a small family of cats (adult kittens born during the pandemic lockdown)
Where are the guest pets allowed to sleep? With me, on the chaise in the living room, upstairs in the "chalet" roof bed or in the guest room. It's spacious. 
Yes, I have a backyard but it is just a large concrete play area with tables and chairs. It is fully fenced. There is a back door to the park and dog routes.  Pets are not allowed to stay outside overnight because there are bats and hedgehogs, as well as foxes that run through. Out of respect for the wildlife, all pets must stay indoors during the night, but they are welcome to play or go pee, etc, three times a day during the day.  Cats are not allowed to catch birds either.   We do not put any poison in our environment for any rodents.  We also do not use flea treatment, but your dog/cat must be flea- and tick-free and not have ringworm to stay with us.  Make sure to tell me if your pet has just had a treatment before coming because pets need to absorb the medications.

I've grown up with dogs my entire life and have become attached to the love, loyalty and compassion they provide. For me, returning that sentiment is one of the most rewarding and fulfilling parts of caring for an animal. Being able to create such a deep connection with dogs without the ability to verbally communicate is a magical and beautiful experience, which I am always happy to share.
I have the most experience with small to medium sized breeds, but have also looked after large dogs many times. I'm proud of my ability to be commanding but also patient with dogs. I would love the opportunity to develop a long-term relationship with your dog, from which I believe we could all benefit.
I am a full-time Psychology student at UM, and have a changing but relatively flexible schedule throughout the year. I am originally from the USA, but lived in Europe for 5 years and speak English and German.

Ik ben Lauren en heb een groot hart voor dieren. Zelf heb ik 14 mooie jaren een hond gehad. Ik begrijp dus maar al te goed hoe belangrijk het is om een betrouwbaar persoon te vinden voor je trouwe viervoeter om voor hem of haar te zorgen wanneer je (even) weg bent. Ik let veel op de hondjes van familie en vrienden en doe er alles aan om deze momenten zo aangenaam mogelijk te maken voor hen. Dit houdt in: veel aandacht, spelen, wandelen, maar ook rusten en genieten. Ik heb aandacht voor de verschillende noden van elk hondje. Hier in huis zijn momenteel geen andere inwonende huisdieren. Ze zullen dus het rijk voor hen alleen hebben!  Ons buurhondje, een sociale, speelse en nieuwsgierige Yorkshire Terriër, komt wel al eens graag op bezoek om te spelen. 
Graag wil ik mijn vrije tijd gebruiken om mijn passie verder uit te breiden en daarbij ook andere mensen (uit de nood) te helpen. Dus, moet je een avondje weg? Maak je een daguitstap? Of zoek je op regelmatige basis een hondenuitlaat? Dan kan ik binnenkort misschien voor jou en je viervoeter iets betekenen! Ze zullen opgevangen worden in een landelijke omgeving met een grote (volledig afgesloten) tuin.
Diensten:
Dagopvang: (min. 10 uur) jullie hond mag vrij rondlopen in huis en in een veilig afgesloten grote tuin. Er word een gezellig plekje voorzien in huis waar het mandje, eventueel speelgoedjes en het eet- en drinkbakje gezet zullen worden. Ik maak gebruik van de vertrouwde spullen die de hond gewoon is, dus vraag ik om leiband, voeding, mandje, eet- en drinkbak,.. mee te geven. Er zullen ook wandelingen gemaakt worden in een rustige omgeving (het veld). 2 korte wandelingen van 30 min. of 1 lange wandeling van één uur. Dit is in overleg met het baasje. De hond zal niet alleen gelaten worden. In de zomer is er voldoende schaduw onder 2 grote bomen in onze tuin, in de winter kan er lekker vertoefd worden aan de houtkachel. Ik neem op dit moment 1 hondje per keer of maximaal 2 honden wanneer deze uit hetzelfde gezin komen en elkaar gewoon zijn. Tijdens het verblijf van jullie viervoeter worden jullie op de hoogte gehouden a.d.h.v. foto's en/of berichtjes.
Huisbezoeken: (min. 30 minuten) tijdens een huisbezoek wordt de hond uitgelaten en wordt hij voorzien van veel aandacht en interactie. Water en eventueel voeding worden aangevuld. Andere taakjes zijn in samenspraak ook mogelijk (planten water geven, post verzamelen,..).
Uitlaatdienst: de hond wordt meegenomen voor een leuke wandeling. Hij wordt opgehaald en teruggebracht naar de afgesproken plaats. Er wordt met het baasje afgestemd hoe lang de hond moet/kan wandelen (minimum 30 minuten). Ook wordt er afgestemd waar de hond het liefst gaat wandelen en zicht het meest op zijn gemak voelt (bos, veld, dorp,..). Het baasje zorgt voor de benodigdheden: leiband, poepzakjes,.. 
Beschikbaarheid:
Meestal in het weekend, woensdagnamiddagen en alle schoolvakanties. Buiten de schoolvakanties werk ik van maandag tot vrijdag buitenshuis. Neem gerust contact op en dan bespreken we alle mogelijkheden! 

Who I am:
I am an international doctoral researcher. Since I do a remote and flexible study, I can take care of your dog/cat well and be sure that s/he will be not left alone, and will be cared, loved, petted well 
My motivation:
I love to spend time with pawfriends, discover their unique characters and make them happy. I had two dogs till my 6, then they passed away and we have never adopt any after them. Now, I spend time with friends' lovely dogs/cats. -update: We just adopted Weasley last February from Turkey! He's a super cutie  We are working with a behaviourist to reduce his anxiety and level up his confidence (his Instagram: weasley.themaltipoo)

What can I do for your paw friends :
 Dog/cat sitting at your place: I can stay in your place to be sure that no change will bother your dog/cat.
 Dog walks: I can take your dog walks whenever s/he needs. Up to 1 h depends on my own schedule and energy of the dog. Please, inform me how long exactly your dog requires. 
 Home visits: I can visit your home to be sure that everything is alright with your dog/cat.

🪩I can only do home visits/ housesitting or dog walks. Sadly, I can't accept non trained pawfriends to stay with me since I have Weasley and he is still not confident with other dogs (and even humans who are strangers). He is looking like a selective dog.

Ik ben een echte dierenvriend, heb zelf ook een hondje en is ondertussen 15 jaar. Ik werk 80 procent maar heb vrije dagen en wil deze spenderen met het liefste wat ik doe met honden en katten bezig zijn. Voor de rest probeer ik samen met mijn hondje, Luka te genieten zoals een stevige wandeling alsook een terrasje ofwel een uitstap naar de zee. Ik ben altijd opgegroeid met honden en daarom heb ik er zo een grote liefde voor. Ik ben dus in mijn hart en ziel een echte dierenvriend.Ik hoop dat ik bij jullie het gevoel kan geven aan jullie dieren zoals ik geef voor mijn eigen hondje. Hij is nu 15 jaar en geen enkel minuut van de dag denk ik aan hem en ben ook zeker hij aan mij. Ik pas al een aantal jaren op honden en katten en dit allemaal in hun vertrouwde omgeving. Bij mijn thuis wordt het krap want wij wonen op een appartement. Het is ook voor hen het fijnste in hun vertrouwde omgeving te blijven want dit is ook mijn beste ervaring.Voor de rest blijven we genieten van de kleine en mooie dingen in het leven en hopelijk zonder Corona. Want met de Corona tijd zijn we niet op vakantie kunnen gaan dus voor mij was dit ook een tijd zonder nieuwe dieren te leren kennen of de bestaande banden te onderhouden.
