🐾 Pet Lover | 🎩 Handmade Hat Maker | 📍 Based in Ravels, Belgium

Hi everyone! My name is Xiao Wei. I’m originally from China, now living in Ravels (near Turnhout), Belgium, with my Dutch boyfriend. I work as a traditional handmade hat maker and am a full-time caregiver to three beloved furry companions:

🐶 Samoyed (male) – 8 years old

🐱 Chinese rural cat (female) – 7 years old

🐱 Cow-patterned cat (female) – 4years old

The Samoyed and the rural cat came with me all the way from China. We’ve been together since they were just 4 months old — they’re truly family to me.

In February 2023, I relocated to Belgium with them. It wasn’t easy traveling internationally with pets, but I never hesitated — I couldn’t imagine life without them. ❤️

🐾 My Daily Routine with Pets

As a freelancer working from home, my days are fulfilling and full of love. Outside of the occasional outing and my Dutch lessons, I spend most of my time caring for my three animals.

🍽️ Feeding & Water

Feed them twice a day with a healthy mix of wet and dry food

Make sure the Samoyed doesn’t eat anything he shouldn't — he’s always hungry!

Ensure fresh water is always available

One of my white cats loves drinking from the tap, so I stay with her while she drinks

🌳 Exercise & Play

Walk the dog twice a day:

Once along the canal or through the dog forest

Once in the garden with a game of fetch

My cow-patterned cat loves to hunt in the garden, so I supervise her to keep birds and mice safe — and the house clean!

🧼 Hygiene & Health

Clean the litter box promptly

Monitor their physical and emotional well-being

Keep a stocked pet medicine kit at home

Regular grooming for all pets:

Bathe the Samoyed

Trim nails, brush teeth

Clean ears and eyes of the cats

Watch the cats play at dusk to prevent roughhousing or chewing on my hat-making materials

Night routine:

Make sure the cat house door is open for bathroom breaks

Occasionally wake up at night to take the Samoyed outside

💬 This daily rhythm — a blend of work, care, and companionship — brings me peace, purpose, and so much joy.

🐶 My Experience & Qualifications

I have a deep love for animals, especially cats and dogs. Because of them, I rarely travel far — I prefer to stay close and spend time with them.

Back in China, I worked as a certified pet sitter via the “Xiaobu at Home” app. I received professional training in:

Pet behavior

Pet care and hygiene

Emergency handling and stress recognition

I provided:

🐕 Dog walking

🐈 Litter box cleaning

🍴 Feeding

💞 Companionship for pets whose owners were away or working late

With over 8 years of hands-on experience, I’ve cared for pets with a wide range of personalities, needs, and temperaments. I treat each animal with love, patience, and respect — just like family. 🐾

💼 Services I Offer

Safe, enjoyable walks

Personalized pacing based on your dog’s needs

⏰ Availability

2 weekdays per week (Monday to Friday)

Up to 1 hour per visit, depending on location and your pet’s needs

I’m quite petite, so I feel safest handling dogs under 30kg

Due to my own pets at home, I do not offer boarding at this time — only home visits and walking services. Thank you for your understanding!
