About Colin
The World is a cat.
I’m studying philosophy, and one reason is that I want to become a great philosopher and leave behind a famous quote—"The world is a cat"—so future philosophy students can write piles of papers arguing about what on earth it means.
I have a cat. I met her at my university—back in my home country, there are lots of stray cats living on campus. She chose me. She ran straight up to me, and when I tried to leave, she yelled like a trumpet. I brought her home across 1,300 kilometers. From that day on, I was no longer a stray person without a cat.
Now I’m studying here in Leuven, more than ten thousand kilometers away from her, and I miss her so much it hurts. So yes—you can believe I truly understand how hard it is to be away from the little ones you love at home.
That’s why I want to help. Cats aren’t like dogs: they don’t always do well with travel. They usually need familiar territory and a sense of safety. Sometimes we want to take a vacation and enjoy life, but the hardest part is always leaving your furbaby behind.
When you’re away, I can keep your furbaby company—just like my friends help with mine when I’m not home. I learned how to care for cats from my own: how to scoop litter, how to calculate how much food and water a kitty needs each day, how to fool them to take medicine, how to help them feel more confident and playful, and how to keep them healthy and happy for as long as possible. I’m a Bachelor of Philosophy, but I’m pretty sure I’m already a Master of Cats. I’ll take care of your kitty the way I take care of mine.
And of course—dogs too! When I was a teenager, my family fostered a dog named Xiaobai. He used to wake me up at 6 a.m. to take him out, and I’d run a whole kilometer with him (God knows how I had that kind of stamina back then), rain or shine. That’s what dog people do—while cat people are still tucked under a warm blanket with their kitty lol.
I’m Colin, based in Leuven, Belgium. My service area includes Leuven, Heverlee, and places within about 10 km of Leuven. Back home, I’ve done home visits to feed and check on my friends’ cats, so I’m familiar with the whole routine. I actually studied Operations Research (OR), so I can even plan the most efficient routes between different homes...
We can discuss your needs, timing, and location in detail. I’ll carefully note what your furbaby needs and likes. I have excellent hygiene habits and I’m familiar with the cleaning and disinfection steps needed before interacting with your furbaby—so it's best if your baby is also vaccinated!
After all, what’s a better combo than a broke philosophy student and a cat (or dog)? (Imagine an endless list of philosophers with cats here.)
