I love animals and i love to be around them; since (for multiple reasons) cannot own a pet of my own, this would be a great alternative of spending time with non-human beings.

I have had 2 dogs while growing up and i've taken care of numerous cats in the past years (foster care), friends' pets, also shared custody of our dog with my former partner. We see each other almost every day, she stays with me when he goes away and we spend a lot of time hanging out at the park. 

Since i've been in Brussels, besides the services provided through Pawshake, i regularly took care of a friend's cats (3). She would go abroad every month for a week (during the summer it was for 3 consecutive weeks) and i would live at her place at stay with the cats. They each had different personalities so i had to learn about them and make them trust me. One of them was extremely shy and scared of people, there were only 3 people he would allow to cuddle him; after many weeks he started trusting me and from the cat who would sprint out of the house as soon as he heard the bell he transformed into a huggable fur ball, asking for cuddles every time i came over. Another one, who is prone to allergies, sometimes developed an episode of allergy and there were a few times when i had to take him to the vet to get shots.

I live in alone in a roomy studio at Rochefort, right next to Parc de Forest and Parc Duden and less than 10 mins away from the petshop Canine. I have a living room available and a bedroom on a mezzanine. I prefer taking the dog.s outside to play and run and socialise with other dogs than to play with them inside, but when the circumstances (weather) require it, i like to play games inside. I love to have dogs sleeping in bed with me, but i'm flexible, so if usually they're not allowed in bed, they're not allowed with me either. I will gladly follow whatever rules you have imposed on your pet.

I have a weekend job and i'm working from home, which means i can be present constantly and can relocate my working station anywhere, as long as there is an internet connection provided.

When i have home visits, i like to spend at least one hour up to 3 hours (flexible) with the pet.s in question, giving them time to adjust to the change, to my presence, to explore me and to gain a sense of security and not feel unsafe in their own home. When pets are staying in my home we can spend all our time together, seeing as my job is flexible.

I have experience with dogs recovering from surgeries (i can clean wounds, replace bandages), i administer medication,i can do light grooming (giving them a bath, brushing their fur). I like teaching them tricks and i make games out of it. Will go to the vet if necessary, there are 2 cabinets withing 10 min of walking from where i live. I never board more than 1 booking, but can care for 2 pets (3 if small size) at the same time. When on dog walks i spend upwards of one hour (seeing as the park is 1 minute away from me) up to 3 hours/walk.
