Are you going away but have a pet that prefers to stay in their own environment? Or perhaps you have a range of different animals and it’s not practical for you to organise for them to stay in different places? Then you might want to consider finding a Pawshake house sitter to come and stay at your Voeren home while you are away.

House sitting is a convenient and affordable option when you have multiple pets and also want your house to be securely looked after while you are away. Many of our pet sitters have very reasonable house sitting rates because they enjoy staying and exploring different local neighbourhoods like Voeren.

At Pawshake, we understand that trusting your home to a stranger can be a little daunting. So we’ve done all the hard work to ensure that your Pawshake house sitter is trustworthy and reliable. All our pet sitter profiles are checked individually by our dedicated trust and safety team and some house sitters also have their own police checks which they can share with you.

The best thing about engaging a Pawshake verified house sitter is that you can relax knowing that on top of being covered by The Pawshake Guarantee which includes veterinary coverage, so your pets are being cared for in a familiar environment and your Voeren home is also being looked after as well.

In addition to looking after your pets, most of our house sitters will happily help you by collecting your mail, taking out the bins, and watering your plants. Just make sure you discuss all your requirements with your chosen house sitter prior to booking.

Hi, my name is Holly, I am 20 years old and currently studying psychology here in Maastricht I absolutely love animals, especially dogs. I used to own a small Bolonka Zwetna, his name was Schrubbi. I miss having a pet around and playing with them, taking them on nice walks, especially around maastricht, it's so beautiful here. I have already been a pet-sitter back home in germany, I took care of a Cavapoo (Cavalier King Charles Spaniel x Poodle) and we got along amazingly. I can take special instructions and wishes into consideration when taking care of your little one. My dog was a puppy when we got him, so I am comfortable with taking care of little pups as well as older dogs and I don't have any allergies so no limitations! I would prefer taking care of vaccinated dogs but we can discuss that on a case to case basis. I would appreciate a heads up about whether or not they are trained to walk on leashes, because that impacts where we should best make our rounds. Otherwise, I'm just happy to help and take care of your pets and let them have a good time:)

Hello !!
D'aller promener vos chiens.

Hi! I’m from Turkey and currently living in the Netherlands for my studies. Back home in my family house, I’ve taken care of both dogs and cats, and I loved every moment with them — from playtime and cuddles to making sure they were fed, safe, and happy. Since moving here, I’ve really missed having them around, which is why I’d love to spend time caring for other pets.I might not have “professional” pet-sitting experience, but I truly believe what matters most is patience, kindness, and genuine love for animals. I know how important it is to feel your pet is safe and cared for while you’re away. I'm looking forward to meeting some furry friends, whether it’s going for a walk, giving belly rubs, or simply keeping them company at mine place or iether your place. For safety, I only accept vaccinated pets.

I’ve loved dogs for as long as I can remember. When I was little, I was so obsessed that I used to hand my toy dogs to my dad so he could walk ahead of me, just so I could pretend I was walking them myself. I’ve grown up surrounded by family friends’ dogs and have spent most of my formative years learning everything about them. I think I have grown to understand how to read their behaviour, body language and personalities.
My own dog was brought into our home as a result of my persuasion and pestering over 11 years of my life and so once we got him, I have been very actively involved in his life. He is a very lively cocker spaniel-poodle mix so I’m used to energetic dogs who need both mental and physical stimulation. I’m also experienced with older, slower and more sensitive dogs who need patience, calmness and extra care having looked after our friends' old labrador for the last five years of his life. On walks, I make sure dogs get the right balance of exercise, sniffing time and engagement, adjusting the pace depending on age, fitness and confidence levels. Nervous dogs are always given space, reassurance and calm guidance, while more energetic ones benefit from structure, recall practice and playful interaction. Over the years I’ve also cared for older and more sensitive dogs, ensuring gentler walks and plenty of comfort. I’ve regularly looked after dogs for friends and family, including golden retrievers, labradors and whippets, so I’m confident in adapting to different breeds and needs. I love seeing how different dogs have such different personalities and getting to understand them better. Additionally, I am an active person myself, loving the outdoors and I miss my own dog greatly when at university; dog sitting is the perfect opportunity to give the care and attention I am used to giving to my own dog to yours!
When house sitting, safety and routine come first. I make sure to maintain feeding schedules, keep environments secure, and make sure dogs are never left unsupervised in unfamiliar situations. I prioritise calm handling, secure lead walking, name-tag checks and awareness of surroundings when outdoors.
My motivation for pet sitting is simple: I genuinely love spending time with dogs, and I want owners to feel completely at ease knowing their pets are happy, safe and loved. I treat every dog as if they were my own, and I’m committed to making their time with me positive and stress-free. Dogs are incredible at reading human emotions and body language which is why they are such great companions and I am passionate about giving them the best company in return. Moreover, I understand that dogs often function on routine and therefore I am happy to follow any routines you already have in place.
I offer both dog walking and house sitting, and I’m always happy to dedicate the time, energy and attention needed to make sure your dog is comfortable and cared for.

UPDATE: inmiddels werk ik fulltime en is het alleen mogelijk om in het weekend op te passen.

Hallo! Mijn naam is Céline Houben, 23 jaar.

Hi! My name is Ashley, and caring for animals is truly at the heart of who I am. With years of hands-on experience as a pet transportation and care specialist, I’ve built my career around ensuring pets feel safe, loved, and stress-free—whether they’re traveling across the country or settling in for a cozy stay.My passion for pet sitting stems from a deep respect for the bond between pets and their people. I know how important it is to leave your furry family member in trusted hands, and that’s exactly what I strive to offer. Every pet in my care is treated like my own—with patience, kindness, and attention to their unique needs.I’m trained in Pet CPR, First Aid, and medication administration, and I do require that pets be up to date on vaccinations to keep everyone safe. Whether it’s walks, playtime, or cuddle sessions, I’m here to provide reliable, loving care you can count on. My services range from local pet sitting, dog walking, pet transportation and relocation, to overnight care with the use of Tractive GPS trackers so you know where your pet is at all times whether that be down the street for a walk or across the country, you have access to real time tracking of your furry (or furless!) family member. I have worked with breeders since 2017 to safely transport pets from California to Florida and across the United States to their new homes. I'm excited to now offer my services across Europe and the United Kingdom and internationally for pet parents relocating from the United States.
