Hey there! I'm Aya, a 20 year old pet lover. Currently a second year in Psychology at Maastricht university. Back home I have a lovely nine year old pug, whom i devoted all my spare time to, but sadly I had to leave my doggo back home with my parents.  My dog Benji is truly my best friend, as cliche as it sounds i do feel as though my life without him is incomplete here in Maastricht. I'm used to having a rambunctious, lively and energetic pets around me. I feel at ease in their chaos. It's comforting and brings me joy. 
I miss the pet life and I'd love to lend a helping hand to fellow pet owners. I'm open to taking care to dogs and cats. As stated I have experience with dogs, and I used to be a cat owner when I was younger as well as would take care of my friend's cats!

Hallo! Mijn naam is Céline Houben, 23 jaar. Ik ben onlangs afgestudeerd als dierenarts aan de Universiteit van Gent (BE), waar ik de studie diergeneeskunde heb gevolgd. Al van jongs af aan heb ik een enorme passie voor dieren. Mijn eerste hond was een kruising tussen een Berner Sennen en een Golden Retriever, en momenteel hebben wij thuis een Golden Retriever.
Dankzij mijn achtergrond als dierenarts beschik ik over uitgebreide kennis van de verzorging en gezondheid van honden, katten en andere diersoorten. Naast de gebruikelijke zorgtaken ben ik extra alert op signalen die kunnen wijzen op gezondheidsproblemen. Zo kan ik niet alleen zorgen voor uw dier, maar ook een extra steentje bijdragen aan het welzijn ervan.
Helaas kan ik geen dieren mee naar mijn huis nemen, maar ik kan zeker wel bij u op uw dieren passen. Daarnaast sta ik ook open voor de uitlaatservice. Maar u mag mij altijd contacteren indien u een verzoek heeft.

Hallo! Ik ben Tessa, 20 jaar, en ik woon in België. Dieren hebben altijd een grote rol in mijn leven gespeeld, ik ben opgegroeid met katten en heb er op dit moment 3 die me elke dag gezelschap houden. Daarnaast heb ik 2 honden: eentje woont bij mij thuis, en de andere bij mijn papa in Zweden. Sinds mei 2025 zie ik die laatste niet meer vaak. 

Mijn ervaring ligt vooral bij honden en katten, omdat ik daar het meeste mee opgegroeid ben. Ik weet hoe belangrijk het is dat ze liefde, aandacht en goede zorg krijgen, en dat bied ik met plezier. Maar ik sta ook open om voor kleinere huisdieren te zorgen, zoals knaagdieren of vogels, nieuwe dieren leren kennen vind ik altijd leuk!

Als oppas neem ik de tijd om echt een band op te bouwen met jouw huisdier. Ik geef ze de zorg die ze gewend zijn, speel met ze, en zorg dat ze zich veilig en op hun gemak voelen. Tijdens mijn oppasmomenten kan ik je ook gerust updates en foto’s sturen, zodat je met een goed gevoel weg kan gaan.

Ik kijk ernaar uit om jouw huisdier te leren kennen en samen veel knuffels en plezier te delen!

My maternal grandma, mom and myself have all been born into families with dogs and raised with dogs being a part of the family. When I was born, my mom had a 4 year old mixed bread spaniel named Nordik, a name he inherited from my great grandpas dog. I loved him from the moment I was able to understand what that meant, and kept loving him till he died peacefully of his sleep at age 16. We mourned him for a couple of years, but our house was not a home without a dog in it, which is why we adopted Spot, our 7 year old Springer spaniel. 
I miss spot everyday as he is still living with my parents between Spain and Finland. I miss him so much anytime I see a dog in the street I always stop to ask if I can pet them, asking the owners about the dog's name and age. But I still feel like this is not enough, I truly love dogs. I love playing with them, petting them, walking them, talking to them and spending time with them which is why I want to become a dog walker/sitter. Even though they are not my Spot, I know I will enjoy spending time with the dogs and I think they will enjoy their time with me too. 
As I have mentioned I have had dog in my life ever since I can remember, and we have dog sat for multiple other families in the short period between our Nordik and Spot. This is why I have extensive experience walking dogs, I can recognise their body language and understand their boundaries when it comes to human behaviour and other dog's behaviour. Both our dogs have been hunting breeds that pull a lot and are quite a lot to handle outside, but I have also dog sat and walked other breeds as big as a mix between a German shepherd and a English mastiff (my grandpas dog named Ray). Therefore I also know that dogs are very much like humans, they all have distinct likes and dislikes and need to be treated as individual with love and respect. For example, I love hugging my dog, but he is not always a fan so when he looks at me with whale eyes (the whites of his eyes are showing) I know nkt to stop. In this sense, if we are walking outside and a dog comes up to say hello, I know to pull him away gently if the fur on the back of his neck stands up and he gets tense, while remaining calm myself so he does not get more anxious. 
While I cannot have dogs at my house as they are not permitted in my contract, I would more than happily go to the dogs home and sit with them or stay over. Likewise I am equally as happy to walk them any time, in any weather!

I do understand Dutch but am limited in my speaking skills. 
I'm studying psychology and as it's a full time studies, I'm studying a lot and am in class a lot. For that reason I want to get a balance in my life which I want to combine with dogs and going on a walk. I have always been in love with the nature and gods and wouldn't mind going with dogs for a long walk. I am an animal lover, in particular dogs. They show and feel emotions which is a comforting zone for me, personally. 
I haven't had a dog myself but I walked and spent time with dogs of my friends and family (as seen in the attached photos) therefore I know what to look out for and how to take care of them. Furthermore, I've cat and dog sat already here on Pawshake for more than a year now. 
Preferably, I cant take your dog at my place because my landlord has his strict rules about that place. Generally, I don't mind whether the dog is vaccinated or not.

I miss having a pet around and playing with them, taking them on nice walks, especially around maastricht, it's so beautiful here. I have already been a pet-sitter back home in germany, I took care of a Cavapoo (Cavalier King Charles Spaniel x Poodle) and we got along amazingly. I can take special instructions and wishes into consideration when taking care of your little one. My dog was a puppy when we got him, so I am comfortable with taking care of little pups as well as older dogs and I don't have any allergies so no limitations! I would prefer taking care of vaccinated dogs but we can discuss that on a case to case basis. I would appreciate a heads up about whether or not they are trained to walk on leashes, because that impacts where we should best make our rounds. Hi! My name is Clara and I a recent graduate from Maastricht University. I am a barista at a specialty coffee place and I recently started volunteering at an animal shelter. I love crafts, specially knitting and crocheting.
Ever since I was little, I’ve always wanted to have a dog. My parents then decided to get a cat and I then fell in love with cats as well. Now I have both a cat and a dog of my own and I’ve never been happier. My dog, Charlie, is 14 years old now so I have some experience with senior dogs. My cat, Pucci, on the other hand, is barely a year old, so I’m also used to very active animals with more demanding needs.
I just started pet sitting for other people a few months ago and it has been so fulfilling. Since I don't have the possibility yet of adopting more pets of my own, it's really the perfect opportunity to get to take care of more pets. And plus, I just love the company they offer.
I moved into a new house with a great garden a couple of months ago, which is the perfect place for your dog to get some fresh air and have fun. I also have a wonderful couch where we could cuddle or play together. And of course we will be going on lots of walks! There are a couple of dog friendly parks around my neighborhood, which is perfect!

Hi there! My name is Kubo, I’m from Slovakia, and I’ve been studying in Maastricht for over a year now. If there’s anything I miss besides my family and the mountains, it’s definitely my dogs. Throughout my life, we’ve always had at least three dogs at home, with whom I spent a lot of my free time. In addition to having a large dog (a Hungarian Vizsla), we also owned smaller breeds like a Chihuahua, Yorkshire Terrier, and Pomeranian.
Beyond caring for my own dogs, I started helping my uncle during the summer in a dog hotel in England when I was in my early teens. There, I looked after more than 50 dogs, which were exclusively large terriers, and it gave me a wealth of experience.
I’d love to relive the moments of walking my own dogs and help people with their furry companions. I would approach this not only responsibly and lovingly but also as a way to relax amidst the challenges of university life.

I’m a dog lover and the proud owner of my French Bulldog named Rollar. I decided to become a pet sitter because I truly enjoy having dogs around and I would love for Rollar to have some company and social time with other friendly dogs. It’s also a great way for me to help other dog owners who need a safe and caring place for their pets while they are away.
I offer a calm, comfortable home environment where dogs can relax and feel at ease. I understand that leaving your pet with someone new can feel stressful, so I always try to make the experience as smooth as possible for both the dog and the owner. I pay close attention to each dog’s personality and needs, whether they enjoy playtime, walks, or simply relaxing.
Most of my experience comes from caring for my own dog and participating in group dog activities like walks in the countryside and group trainings. I always try to find new things to stimulate him and keep him sociable (agility ateliers, grooming, indoor agility parcs for bad weather).
For the safety and wellbeing of all pets, I only accept dogs that are vaccinated. This ensures a healthy and safe environment for Rollar and any visiting dogs.
