For pet parents, one of the hardest things about going to work each day is wondering what your dog will get up to while you are gone. At Pawshake, we understand that dogs need activity and interaction during the day, so why not book your dog with one of our trusted sitters in Tongeren for a home day care service? You can drop your dog off at the sitter’s home on the way to work or organise with your local Tongeren Pawshake sitter to pick up and drop off your dog for you.

Pet day care is a great way to keep your dog mentally and physically active during the day so that you can come home to a happy, relaxed dog. Pawshake’s home day care service is great for young dogs who need constant supervision: puppy daycare allows your pup to maintain a consistent routine, which is important during the toilet training process. It’s also a great option for dogs who need extra care and attention, or those who are extra active.

Our sitters who offer home day care and puppy daycare services are more adaptable than your average big day care centre. Numbers are kept small and some Pawshake sitters will only take in one dog at a time. This means they can work around your timing and any special requirements your dog may have. So, let your four-legged best friend enjoy their day with a fun and loving Tongeren sitter who will shower them with love and dedicated attention. On top of that, you will also get photos and updates during the day so that you can follow your dog’s day care adventures!

Every day care booking also comes included with The Pawshake Guarantee, which includes veterinary coverage, customer service support 7 days a week and more.

Hi! I’ve always had a soft spot for animals, especially dogs and cats. I’ve had both dogs and cats myself back home in the U.S., so I understand how much they become part of the family and how important it is to feel comfortable with the person looking after them.
I have previous pet-care experience from when I lived in Boston, where I provided dog walking, boarding, and pet visits. I regularly visited people’s homes to walk their dogs, feed them, spend time with them, and care for cats while their owners were away. I genuinely enjoyed the experience because every pet has its own personality, routine, and little habits.
Now that I’m in Hasselt, I’d love to continue doing something I genuinely enjoy. I offer dog boarding, daycare, and dog walking, mainly on weekends. My availability for boarding is generally from Friday evening until Sunday evening, which can be especially convenient if you’re going away for the weekend, have plans, or simply need someone you can trust to look after your dog for a couple of days.
I live in a ground-floor apartment with a large terrace, giving dogs some outdoor space to get fresh air and move around during the day, in addition to their regular walks. I enjoy having dogs around and making sure they receive plenty of attention, company, and stimulation.
Safety & Supervision
Your dog’s safety and well-being are my top priorities while they are staying with me. I always make sure doors and access points are secure, and I supervise dogs when they are on the terrace or interacting with their surroundings. I also keep their individual personality, energy level, and comfort in mind when planning walks and activities.
I don’t believe pets should be left alone for unnecessarily long periods during boarding. I prefer to spend as much time with them as possible and keep them part of my daily routine. If I do need to leave the apartment for a short period, I make sure your dog is in a safe, comfortable environment before I go and consider their individual needs and separation tolerance. I’m also happy to discuss your dog’s normal routine and how they are accustomed to being left alone before the booking.
During their stay, I’ll make sure they receive their usual meals, regular walks, bathroom breaks, attention, and rest time. I’m happy to follow their normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding times, walking habits, medication instructions where appropriate, and any little things that help them feel safe and comfortable.
In Case of an Emergency
Before boarding, I’ll ask you for important information such as your contact details, your preferred emergency contact, your veterinarian’s information, and any relevant medical or behavioral information about your dog. This allows me to act quickly and responsibly if something unexpected happens.
If your dog becomes unwell or there is an emergency, I would contact you as soon as possible and, when necessary, seek veterinary assistance. I take any unusual behavior, injury, illness, or change in condition seriously rather than simply waiting to see if it improves.
Meet & Greet
Before a first booking, I think it’s always important to have a short meet-and-greet. This gives us a chance to get to know each other, discuss your dog’s routine and personality, and make sure your dog feels comfortable with me and the environment.
I know it can be difficult to leave your pet with someone else, especially for the first time. My goal is to make the experience as safe, comfortable, and worry-free as possible. Whether your dog is staying with me for the weekend, joining me for daycare, going for a walk, or your cat needs some care while you’re away, I want you to feel confident that your pet is receiving attentive, responsible, and loving care.
Your pet isn’t just another booking — while they’re with me, I treat them with the same care, patience, and attention I would want for my own pets.

Bonjour,

Hi! My name is Ceren I’m 23 years old and currently studying Business Engineering as an international student. I’ve been passionate about animals for as long as I can remember Back in my home country, I cared for 8 cats —each with their own unique personality. I also had a dog who was a huge part of my life until he sadly passed away. He taught me so much about love, responsibility, and the special bond we share with our pets
In addition to caring for my own animals, I used to walk dogs in my neighborhood which gave me experience with different breeds and temperaments. I truly enjoy spending time with animals—whether it’s playing, feeding, cuddling, or simply keeping them company ‍🦺 I always try to understand each pet’s personality and adapt to their routines and needs with love and patience
I speak Turkish and English fluently, and a bit of German. I’d love the opportunity to care for your furry friends and make sure they feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away.

Vakantie- of tijdelijke opvang

After 8 years of wonderful experience with Ariel (boxer) I've mastered my way with dogs and feel very comfortable going about anywhere with them. I can provide some informal training (e.g. fetching, returning/standing by when off the leash), as well as administer medication if needed. Dog walks can be anywhere between 15 minutes to 1h, depending on the request. I usually also make the walks fun, with little off path exploration, or playingn with a stick or a ball, which is usually much appreciated. When hosting, I can work from home most of the time so I have no problem being around for the whole day. I don't have other pets in my apartment so your dog will get all the attention!
I genuinly love every minute spent with dogs, and I feel it's fairly reciprocal. Ariel was a sweet, highly energic but also dominant dog, so I've experienced about any shade of it, and still love it. We travelled a lot together so I had to train her wuite extensively, and also train myself to face about any instance with a dog. My proudest achievement with her was to comfortably walk around everywhere without leash (if allowed), managing to have her listening to my inputs regardless if we were camping in the mountains or walking by a busy seaside, which for a boxer it's everything but easy (they just want to play and chase everything all the time). I'd be happy to help you in your current adventure with your dog, even if it's for a simple walk.

Hi! I’m a student at Maastricht University and a huge animal lover. I grew up with pets, mostly cats, so taking care of animals has always been part of my daily life. Being around them from a young age taught me how to understand their different personalities, routines, and needs. I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for.
I’ve looked after pets for friends and family several times, helping with feeding, walks, playtime, cleaning up after them, and simply keeping them company while their owners are away. I know every pet is different, some are very energetic and love attention, while others need more patience and quiet space and I always try to learn to what makes them feel most comfortable.
If I’m taking care of your pet, I like to keep their normal routine as much as possible so they feel relaxed and secure. For dogs, that can mean regular walks, playtime, and lots of attention. For cats, I understand the importance of giving them space while still making sure they feel comfortable and cared for. I also always pay attention to small changes in behavior or mood, because I know pets can get stressed when their owners are away.
I can offer boarding and daycare in my home as well. I live in a calm and clean environment, and because of my flexible student schedule, I’m able to spend a lot of time with the pets I look after instead of leaving them alone for long periods. I also prefer vaccinated pets, especially for boarding, just to keep everything safe and healthy.
For me, pet sitting is not just a side job, I genuinely enjoy being around animals and building trust with them. My main priority is always making sure your pet feels happy, safe, and loved while you’re away.

Hi! I’m from Turkey and currently living in the Netherlands for my studies. Back home in my family house, I’ve taken care of both dogs and cats, and I loved every moment with them — from playtime and cuddles to making sure they were fed, safe, and happy. Since moving here, I’ve really missed having them around, which is why I’d love to spend time caring for other pets.I might not have “professional” pet-sitting experience, but I truly believe what matters most is patience, kindness, and genuine love for animals. I know how important it is to feel your pet is safe and cared for while you’re away. I'm looking forward to meeting some furry friends, whether it’s going for a walk, giving belly rubs, or simply keeping them company at mine place or iether your place. For safety, I only accept vaccinated pets.

A Little About Me ️
Hi! I'm an animal lover currently living in Hasselt, Belgium, and I'd love to take care of your furry friend!
I've had a dog of my own for 12 years, so I understand how special the bond with a pet can be. My dog is currently back in Iran with my husband, and I miss her very much. I also have experience volunteering with animal shelters that help homeless and abandoned animals, which has taught me patience, responsibility, and how to understand different animals' needs.
What I can offer
Dog walking: Enjoyable walks of 30–45 minutes around your neighbourhood and nearby green spaces. I can walk up to two dogs at a time.

Home visits: Feeding, refreshing water, cleaning litter boxes, playtime, and companionship for both dogs and cats.

Pet sitting and daytime care: I can look after your pets in their own home, keeping them company and following their usual routines. I cannot host pets in my own accommodation، but I'm happy to care for them in the comfort of their familiar home.

As a student in Hasselt, I have a flexible schedule and can arrange visits and walks around my studies.
I'm calm, patient, and responsible, and I understand how important it is to trust someone with your beloved pet. I'll treat your furry friend with the same care and affection I give my own.
I look forward to meeting you and your little companion! ️
