Hello! My name is Bart and I'm a big lover of all creatures big and small. I've spent a lot of time in Africa with the local wildlife, from taking snares off lions to feeding elephant orphanes. Because I travel a lot, I sadly can't have a dog, even though I would love to have one. To still have interaction with animals while I'm in Brussels, I would love to bond with your furry family member.
Because I don't have pets myself, I'm open to having overnight guests. We (my wife and I) have a spacious 120m2 appartment with a 100m2 deck that allows plenty of activity. The place is about a 15 minute walk from Josaphat park and Parc Roodebeek. We have spare rooms that the dog can sleep in or, if they're scared the first time, we will put them closer to our bedroom door.
I work from home on my own schedule, so I'm available for all services. In fact, it's a big house, so I'd be delighted to have some company. I also need at least as much "outside time" as the average dog, so they will be properly exercised. My wife helps me when she gets off work, and loves walks in the park as well. Every early morning and late afternoon I walk her to the Schuman roundabout, allowing a detour through the Cinquantenaire Park. Walks are usually 30 mins up to an hour. Whenever we're not on a walk, the dog has my undivided attention (at least, more attention than my computer screen) and a huge roof deck to walk around.
We will make sure that while they are away from their owner, your friends are comfortable and feel safe. I've looked after both dogs and cats when I was living in a building complex with lots of elderly people that needed assistance from time to time taking care of their pets. Walking dogs has also been a side gig when I was younger and living in the Netherlands. When I work in Africa I have daily interactions with stray and guard dogs, so I know what to do when other animals act aggressively to yours. That being said, I focus on expressing love to animals so that they feel comfortable with me and act out of companionship.
When visiting your home, I will be respectful. I'm not against watering plants (I have a collection of plants myself) or picking up your mail. Animals will be fed without deviation from any pregiven instruction. They will get all the attention they need for a visit. Should any mess be made, it will obviously be cleaned up.
If you're looking for a compassionate animal friend to look after your pet, I'm your guy.

We have a Great Dane and Bart was very confident with her despite her size and she was showered with love and attention for the afternoon she was there
very good contact with Bart. He has a very caring approach with my dog, especially doing the training exercice during the walks with her. now, we got back an 'updated' version of our loving dog which is very plaisant. she pulls less on the leash for instance. Very spacious place where he lives and easy for me to pick up my dog. I recommend 100 percent this clearly natural friend of the animals. thanks again dear Bart.
