Hi, I'm Maya!

I'm currently a master's student in urban studies at VUB&ULB. I decided to become a catsitter mainly because of how I miss my cats that live with my parents back in my home country - Poland. My cat-positive friends got a bit tired of me constantly asking about their pets and suggested me Pawshake - so here I am :) 

ME & CATS: I've been raised with cats since I was a baby. This taught me responsibility, and in high school I officially adopted my cat - Sissi (you can see her on my profile picture, where she curiously looks out for a fly). Sissi for the time being stayed with my parents, because I do not want to expose her to the stress of moving to another country, when I'm not yet sure if I'll stay in Brussels long-term. In my family house, there's also Gacek - a senior cat, a favorite pet of my dad's. We found him on the allotments when I was a child and since then he is a house cat. He's a super lovely gentleman jumping on the lap 3 seconds after you sit. 

I unofficially petsitted my friends' cats before and have been a temporary house for 3 cats (all got adopted!), as I was cooperating with the cat foundation. I also helped at a shelter where cats were struggling with leukemia (you can see a one-eyed cat I'm holding on one of the pictures). I am constantly improving my knowledge of cats - I find myself on forums dedicated to them, I have introduced an improved, high-meat diet to my fluffs, I try to recreate the natural feline hunting cycle and I have learned to read cat behavior well. 

I'd be very excited to take care of your fluffball! Since I travel often, I understand how important it is to find a trusted petsitter who takes good care of your loved ones and takes care of their hygiene. Also, I myself am in a long-distance relationship situation with my cat and know how important it is to have constant contact, updated photos and videos to worry just a tiny bit less about the pet!

HOME VISITS: During my visits I offer:

- cleaning and filling bowls

- cleaning the litter box (once a day)

- photos/videos of your pet

- play/petting with the cat (as agreed)

Other additional activities (combing, clipping fuzz [Sissi is a long-haired cat so I'm trained], administering medication) are a matter of agreement. 

1 visits/day last around 45 min -1h

2 visits/day are shorter - around 30 mins per visit

HOME SITTING:

- all of the above, plus taking care of plants, mail and garbage!

- I'm the only one at your house at all time (plus your cat/s!)

- I only do home sitting during the weekends as I'm currently doing an internship

I live in Etterbeek but I don't mind commuting - as long as it's within range of public transportation.
