Originally from New York City, my name is Kwen and I have a wealth of experience with animals. In NYC I worked at a dog daycare caring for up to 40+ dogs at once (but on my favorite days, there were only 10.) After a couple of years cuddling dogs and a few cats there, I became a full time dog walker for an independant business. Working face to face with clients helped me learn the best way to care for pets and to adapt my clients needs. I also am happy to work with cats and other animals (see below), but my speciality lies with dogs. My goal as a dog walker is to exhaust your pets with running, playing and a bit of training so that you can spend more time cuddling them or petting them while you focus on your day.
In my career, I've worked with puppies, older dogs who require a gentle walk, sick and injured animals, as well as pets with behavioral issues (social agression, ADD, etc). I am capable of training basic commands and forms of play. I can handle large and small dogs, with no price difference for size, and I am capable of de-escalating any potential fights instigated by any socially aggressive animals.
I am happy to walk dogs solo or in a group for 30 mins or, for a slightly higher price, one hour.
During dog walks I often visit parks as well as dog parks to give your pup the chance to explore and indulge his senses. I am available in the morning and afternoons, though my evenings are usually occupied. Weekends and holidays are fair game.
During dog sits, I usually spend the entire day at home and outside with your pet and I am happy to spend the night as well, whether it is playing, cuddling, or spoiling them with massages and treats. I can deliver medication orally with treats or, if absolutely necessary, hand to mouth. I have walked animals with broken limbs, and cleaned up after highly anxious dogs as well (in this particular case, the injured dog seemed to suffer from PTSD). At the dog daycare in new york we often socialized rescue dogs from natural disasters, so I am happy to take as much time as is needed to coax any shy pets out of their crates and sit with them until they are comfortable.
CATS & OTHERS
Im also happy to care for cats, whether they thoroughly enjoy cuddles or just need to be fed and lovingly looked at from a distance. Typically I stay at the home for 30mins caring for the cats, playing with them, cleaning any messes I notice or just existing in their space long enough to be sure that nothing is amiss. I have little to no experience giving medicine to cats aside from adding powder in food and hairball prevention.
Recently I gained the chance to care for a small farm of chickens, bunnies, and guinea pigs. I love to take on new challenges, so if you dont see your pet in my page, reach out to me anyway. Chances are I'll *professionally* squeal with joy at the prospect of learning something new.
Thanks for reading and I hope to hear from you soon!
Kwen was really friendly and helpfull. She was flexible when we had to reschedule due to covid. Kept us informed of our cats status and took good care of her
Grâce à Kwen nous partons tranquilles et nous savons que tous nos animaux seront bien soignés et chouchoutés.
